About Marie
Instructor Marie is the Co-owner of Family Black Belt Academy, and is a 2nd degree Black Belt. She has trained at FBBA for several years, and assists in teaching classes.
In addition to her martial arts training, Instructor Marie has a strong background in the sciences with 10+ years of working in laboratory settings. She earned her first Masters of Science degree from the university of Oregon. After a few years of working as a scientist Instructor Marie decided to go back to school to earn a second Masters of Science degree specializing in Inorganic Chemistry. Instructor Marie's instruction is informed by four years of experience as an Instructor at the University of Washington in the chemistry department. Beyond her teaching duties, Instructor Marie gained extensive experience with research and curriculum design; leveraging both skill sets, she continues to contribute to the curriculum at Family Black Belt Academy.
